How we work with sustainability
St1 Biokraft produces biogas and biofertiliser from organic waste products. Our operations make it possible to use waste products as raw materials for renewable energy and to return plant nutrients to agriculture.
At the same time, we work to manage the environmental impact and risks associated with our own operations.
When waste becomes a resource
Through biogas production, organic waste products can be used to produce both energy and fertiliser. Biogas can replace fossil gas in transportation, shipping, and industry. Biofertiliser can replace or supplement mineral fertiliser and return nutrients to farmland.
Accountability throughout the organisation
We address environmental, safety, and working conditions issues in our own operations and in our relationships with our suppliers and business partners. This includes, among other things, risk assessments, follow-up, and procedures for handling nonconformities.
Safety first
Biogas production is an industrial activity that places high demands on safety. We implement procedures, provide training, and take preventive measures to create safe workplaces and manage risks in production and distribution.
Follow-up and documentation
Environmental performance, the feedstock origin, and production processes are key aspects of our work. Through monitoring and documentation, we establish a foundation for overseeing our operations and reporting relevant information about our products.
