Biogas is a renewable fuel that can replace fossil gas. St1 Biokraft produces and distributes biogas and biomethane to businesses in transport, maritime and industry.
LBG for heavy-duty transport
Liquefied biogas (LBG) is used as fuel in gas-powered trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles. It can replace fossil gas or liquefied natural gas and is an alternative for transportation where range and refueling time are important factors.
St1 Biokraft supplies biomethane to the transportation sector through a network of refueling stations and other distribution solutions.
LBG at sea
The shipping industry needs fuels that are suitable for long-distance transport and high energy demands. Liquefied biogas can be used in ships designed for liquid gas and can replace fossil LNG.
Biomethane can therefore be used with existing gas technology without ships having to switch to an entirely different fuel system.
Renewable energy for industry
In industry, gas is used for heating and in various production processes, among other things. Biogas can replace fossil natural gas in facilities equipped with the appropriate gas equipment.
Liquefied biogas can also be transported to facilities that are not connected to a gas network.
